THE LANDSCAPE

Reclaimed granite. Native groundcovers. Room to gather.

PROJECT FIELDNOTES / DESIGN & MATERIALS

A framework of stone.
Softened by planting.

Reclaimed stone, planted borders, and connected gathering spaces shape the pool terrace and its relationship to the garden.

01 / HARDSCAPE

Reclaimed granite as the foundation

The pool installation uses reclaimed granite to establish the terrace. The working plan records the pool, planting beds, surrounding paving, and the transition to the pool house.

02 / OUTDOOR ROOMS

Spaces for gathering

The reclaimed granite stairs and paving around the pool house create a place to entertain or relax. The garden beds soften the transitions between spaces and create garden rooms featuring the various landscape features.

  • Gas fire trough
  • Natural wood fire pit
  • Outdoor shower
  • Diving stone

03 / PLANTING & MOVEMENT

A planted seam between spaces

Patio and stepping-stone routes move through lawn and garden beds. Primarily native plants and groundcovers make the stone terrace part of a more naturalistic garden.

  • Steppers extend circulation beyond the continuous terrace.
  • Groundcovers occupy the garden’s lower layer.
  • Planting beds connect the pool edge with the surrounding slope.

04 / POOLSIDE RITUALS

An outdoor shower in the garden

An outdoor shower beside the pool house offers a place to rinse off close to the terrace. The stone wall forms a textured backdrop, while timber screening and flowering shrubs create a sheltered garden setting.

  • A fixed shower head and handheld spray are mounted against the stone wall.
  • Timber panels define the shower space.
  • Planting softens the enclosure and connects it to the surrounding garden.
